If you pay PRSI you may qualify for the Treatment Benefit Scheme. If you have made sufficient contributions, dental benefit may be available.
Currently the Treatment Benefit Scheme has been limited to one free dental examination a year. However, from 1st November 2017 you may be entiled to a simple scale and polish.
At Gallagher Dental we will contact the Treatment Benefits Scheme on your behalf. Once we have your PPS number available to us, we will let you know your eligibility. Following your dental check-up or scaling you will be asked to sign a PRSI Claim Form which Gallagher Dental will use to claim for your Check-up and cleaning on your behalf.
8 out of 10 Irish Adults are entitled to a free annual examination, but sadly only 3 out of 10 make use of this.
In order to qualify for the scheme you must be paying a Class A, E, P or ST Social Contributions. The amount of social contributions you need depends on your age.

If you are under 21 you may qualify if you have paid at least 39 contributions at any time.
Between these ages you may qualify if you have at least 39 contributions.
From the age of 25 years onwards you must have paid 260 contributions.
There are special rules for people aged 66 and over: You must have 260 contributions paid at any time and must have 39 contributions paid in any of the 2 contribution years before reaching 66.
